http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301 geared up to shine at Test level – Cricket News Update
Australia’s limited-over specialist, David Warner, is all set to find his feet in the longest format of cricket, as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558, his opening partner in ODIs, has been suffering a mild hamstring strain and will not be available for the upcoming Test.
Warner made a fantastic start to the season, scoring a wonderful knock of 65 runs in reply to New Zealand’s first innings total of 423 in the ongoing tour game at Brisbane.
Hence, the aggressive opening batsman is certain to earn the baggy green and represent his country in the forthcoming two-Test clash against the Black Caps, scheduled to get underway with the opening game on December 1, 2011.
Warner is also excited about his new job, and stated that he is confident and ready to produce something good with the bat in the traditional version of the sport.
"The way I went about my game was very rushed. It came down to a slow process where I wasn't playing Shield cricket so I had to play second XI stuff but dug deep there, scored some hundreds there and scored some big runs in grade cricket as well. Probably
then I realised I had to build an innings ... now I'm showing people that I'm probably ready for the next level," Warner told Grandstand.
The only concern about Warner’s batting skills is that he becomes too aggressive at times and begins playing reckless strokes. However, the 25-year-old left-hander has claimed to have brought improvements in his technique, despite aiming to keep on playing
his natural game.
He meanwhile, thanked http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Justin-Lee-Langer-c69712 for their valuable tips that helped him strengthen his defence.
"I like freeing my arms but you've gotta have a very good defence and you've gotta be able to pick the right ball to leave and which one to play," shared the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 batsman who holds a brilliant average of almost 60 in first class cricket.
Since some of Australia's key players, such as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 are not at their best at the moment, Warner’s contribution at the top-order will be extremely important for the Aussies.
