David Warner replaces David Hussey on Australia T20 squad – Cricket New Update
Australian opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301, has been confirmed on the national Twenty20 (T20) and the One Day International (ODI) squads that will be visiting South Africa in the team’s upcoming tour to the region in October, next month.
According to reports, Warner will be replacing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380, who remained ineffective during the team’s recent limited overs assignment against Sri Lanka.
The news was further confirmed by Cricket Australia’s (CA) Chief Selector, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Mark-Jefferson-Hilditch-c44498, who stated that Hussey’s exclusion from the shorter formats has been made since the all-rounder did not make much appearance during Australia’s recent tour to the
island.
“We did not think that David (Hussey) quite took his opportunity in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 and his place has been taken by David Warner,” stated Hilditch. “David (Warner's) form has been irresistible recently and he deserves this opportunity in the one-day squad.”
Warner has been known for his hard-hitting talent, which has earned some big numbers for the Aussies on many occasions.
The 24-year-old premiered his ODI career in 2009 and till now made his appearance in 7 matches, scoring a total of 106 runs at an average of 15.14.
That same year, Warner also made his T20 debut, and has been most effective under the shortest format of the sport, whacking a tally of 775 runs out of a total of 27 matches, at an averaging at 28.70.
During http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s preceding, T20 series against the Lankan hosts, Warner top scored the team’s line-up on the opening fixture from the 2-match series, earning a solid sum of 53 runs off 31 balls, including 6 boundaries and 2 sixes.
However, as for more additions on the squad, Hilditch also confirmed the inclusion of wicket-keeper batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-Marsh-c1974; both the batters are set to make their international debut.
Australia is scheduled to kick off its tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 with an opening 2-match T20 series, which will be played on October 13, and 16 followed by three ODI fixtures, spanning between October 19 till 28 and finally two Test matches scheduled to be played
