With the departure of star striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436, who would cost them much
more than the Nigerian.
Wigan Athletic signed the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigeria-c2970 international from Crystal Palace in the winter transfer window of 2010 for a fee of 2.5 million pounds. According to reports, Chelsea made an offer for 4 million pounds for Moses, an offer that was rejected by an angry
Whelan.
The Wigan Athletic owner revealed that while he was not willing to sell Moses, who had proved to be a fantastic player in the past season, he would have considered parting ways with him had Chelsea made a reasonable offer for the player.
Whelan admitted he had rejected the offer by the Champions League winners for the 21-year-old forward. Moses had made 78 appearances for Wigan in all competitions since 2010 and has scored nine goals along with 12 assists during that time.
Whelan said in an interview:
“The offer that Chelsea have made is no good. It is way too low. It is rubbish. If the price is right we would actually consider letting him go, yes, we have to do that.
I have said to Chelsea 'thank you for your offer but no'. What they are offering is not enough.
I have not put a price-tag on Victor but let's say that what Chelsea have offered is a lot less than £4m - that is absolutely stupid.”
While Moses’ goal tally could be better, the young striker definitely has the potential to improve and possibly go on to be one of the top strikers in the English game. Whelan admitted the manager Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 was working on making him a top player and
expected the procedure to take at least another year.
He revealed:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Martinez has brought this player on and he needs at least another year with Roberto to become a top player.”
