David de Gea did not hire Jorge Mendes for a Manchester United move: The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper's agency
According to reports in Spain, Manchester United's target, David de Gea has not hired Jorge Mendes as his new agent, despite rumours insisting that the Atletico Madrid star was forced to sign up Mendes in order to fasten his switch
to Premier League leaders.
The report suggested that Mendes has jumped in to wrap up a deal to bring goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 to Manchester United in a deal reportedly worth € 20 million.  

 

Jorge Mendes is a very influential figure at Old Trafford and represents a number of United’s past and present player’s including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299.
Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t confirm as to who will be United’s number one keeper next season after a relatively comfortable quarter-final victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the UEFA Champions League. He also denied any pre-contract agreement
with de Gea and wanted to celebrate a memorable victory at Old-Trafford.

FIFA registered agency, ‘You First Sport’, represent De Gea and they insist that they are solely in charge of the player’s interests, however, the firm refused to issue a statement to clear the speculation regarding the youngster’s future.

 

The report claims that Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid for de Gea in the region of €20 million and the player has also settled personnel terms on a five-year contract.
The player’s agent did confirm recently that Manchester United are in contact with regards to a potential switch this summer, but the matter is between the two clubs and a lot of things need to be sorted out.
His agent told the media, “Well, we did have talks with Manchester United but, first of all, they always look for an agreement with the club. You would have to ask the club. What I can tell you is that his release clause now is
20 million euros, but I have no idea if the club would sell him for less.” 
“Right now, the player has a contract with Atletico Madrid and if Manchester United or any other team want him they will have to reach an agreement or pay the whole release clause,” added de Gea's agent.
