David pipe rates Dynaste as a ‘straightforward’ performer
Veteran trainer, David Pipe, believes that Dynaste is a much more straightforward performer compared to stable mate, Grands Crus. Both runners have got a pretty decent record though and have been delivering some dominant performances over the years.
The latter of the two runners has participated in a total of 18 events, winning seven of them whereas secured the runner up spot on four times. In addition to that, he has secured the third spot once, which shows that he performs well with consistency.
He is a touch out of rhythm at the moment, as his performances in recent times have not been much dominant. He failed to win even a single race last year and the start to 2013 has also not been a good one for him. Despite being rated as the outright favourite
to succeed in his most recent outing, he was unable to make an impression and was eventually pulled up by his rider, Tom Scudamore.
Compared to him, Dynaste, has been in full control of things and will be aiming to deliver some top class performances in the future events. He completed a hat-trick of victories recently, which shows that his confidence level is extremely good at the moment
and he will create a lot of problems for his rivals.
Overall, the seven-year-old gelding has succeeded in five races out of 15 attempts and he is improving his strike rate with the passage of time. In addition to his victories, he has finished as a runner up twice whereas secured the third spot once.
According to Pipe, “He (Dynaste) has a very similar profile to Grands Crus. But he is a more straightforward horse. He is a good traveller, jumps nicely, straightforward and has a nice engine. He looks rock solid.”
Commenting on the French runner’s performances, the trainer said, “He has won over two and a half miles twice and then he put up a very good performance in the Feltham at Kempton over three miles. I did not think this year's Feltham was as strong as last
year's but Hadrian's Approach ran a very good race behind Unioniste which franked the form.”
