The Rossoblu defender’s representative has revealed that the proposed €15m deal was vetoed by the club President, and has stated that there has been no move from either side to mend the agreement.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Davide-c10638 Astori’s agent has confirmed that Cagliari’s deal with Russian outfit Spartak has been called off by President Massimo Cellino, and believes that there is little chance that the deal will take off from its current state.
The highly-rated Italian defender was considered to be on the verge of completing a move to Russian Premier League, before news broke that the deal has been vetoed by the Rossoblu patron.
The decision to call off the agreement was initiated by the President at literally the last moment, as Spartak officials were standing ready to sign the deal with the club’s sporting director in Milan.
The last minute calling-off has angered the officials from the Russian outfit, and Astori’s agent was adamant that not much has yet been done by either side to mend the relationship and talk the deal through.
The Rossoblu defender’s agent revealed that it has just been revealed to him that the deal has little chance of taking-off again.
The former AC Milan-man’s representative stated that the dealings between the two clubs was going very smoothly, and admitted his surprise at the way things have quickly gotten so averse between the two outfits.
Astori’s spokesperson went on to stress that while there has been no move from either club to mend the deal, there is still hope that Cagliari and Spartak will sit together again to re-initiate dealings for his client.
While talking to Itasportpress.it, Renzo Contratto said:
“Actually, I’ve only just found out that it is definitely off. I do not understand how it turned around so quickly. Currently, there are no appointments in the coming days to try to mend the situation between the parties. However, we cannot say that this
transfer is definitely closed permanently. We’ll see if Cagliari and Spartak Moscow will return to sit around a table and reopen the negotiations.”
Reports in the media suggest that the Russian outfit were prepared to offer a €15 million deal to Cagliari, along with a €2m-a-season contract to Astori spanning four years.
