Davide Brivio says Valentino Rossi has taken the most difficult path – MotoGP news
Davide Brivio, advisor and former Yamaha Factory Racing team boss says that Valentino Rossi’s decision of coming to Ducati was not wrong.
Brivio said that option of going to Yamaha was not easy because Ducati can be a winning project, after the rider gets at ease with the bike. He added that perhaps that required time was too much for the Italian rider.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport, “It was not an easy choice. Ducati's can be a winning project, but it takes time: too much for a 33-year-old rider.”
Furthermore, he said that the choice to go for Ducati was not wrong because this period resulted in establishing relations therefore these were positive years however Rossi was not able to attain points which was the other side of the picture.
He added, “It was right having gone for it and tried. Relationships-wise and in terms of atmosphere, it's been two positive years. What lacked was results, the most important thing.”
Commenting about the decision of Rossi to re-join Yamaha, in the next 2013 season, he said that Rossi has chosen the most difficult path for his career. He added that the championship leader is in his best shape at the moment and it is very difficult to
challenge him with the same bike.
Furthermore, he said that the Italian has put himself at stake and has everything to lose. He added that currently the leading world champion is doing his best and still has the enthusiasm to win the race he starts.
“He has taken the most difficult path, because it takes guts to challenge Lorenzo, at the moment the rider in the best shape, with the same bike,” said Brivio. “Rossi puts himself at stake and has everything to lose, you need balls for that.”
It is anticipated that his team will go along with him to Yamaha Factory Racing. The news of signing the contract with Yamaha, starting from the following 2013 season has brought him back to news after a long time. Let us see whether he will be able to make
it among the leaders of championship or not.
