Davide Somma signs new three-year contract with Leeds United
Leeds United striker Davide Somma has signed a new three-year contract, which will run until 2013.
Somma signed for Leeds roughly a year ago and has been out on loan with Chesterfield and Lincoln City in League Two since. Leeds boss Simon Grayson has given him a chance this season and he's responded
with six goals in 11 games.
"I'm delighted to sign.
When I came here to try out and I never imagined I would be in this position.
Last season I thought I did what I had to do when I went out on loan, and that gave me the extra confidence to come back here," Somma said on the Leeds website.
Somma has many attributes that should ensure he has a long and fruitful career with Leeds. The club needs him to maintain his good form if a push for Premier League promotion
is possible.
A good striker
Somma is a good striker in many different ways and Leeds will be buzzing that he has signed on with the club. His best attribute has to be his character because he always
plays with a smile on his face and seems to make the club an enjoyable place to be.
His pace is very quick, which makes him difficult to defend against. He's at his best when he's just on the shoulder of a defender ready to dart in behind to go one-on-one
with the opposition goalkeeper.
Leeds is currently in eighth place in the Championship table. The club is looking to consolidate at least a play-off spot and an automatic promotion to the Premier League
is not out of the question. Somma must keep scoring goals if this is to be possible.
"I've worked hard and the club have acknowledged that, and I'm really happy to sign a three-year contract.
I can concentrate on the games and I'm signed and ready to go," he added.

When a striker is in form and scoring plenty of goals it's fairly logical to back him to keep doing this and make a profit out of it.
