Swansea City defender, Ben Davies, was optimistic of filling in Neil Taylor’s shoes, after the Welsh International was ruled out for the entire season due to an ankle injury.

Consequently, he was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent a surgery, and the doctors ruled him out for the entire term.
After making his professional debut against West Ham United this season, when he came on as a substitute in the 84th minute, the 19-year old was sent in rather early against Sunderland as a replacement for Taylor.
The juvenile defender immediately won the plaudits of his manager. Even though Michael Laudrup is expected to explore the market in order to land a free agent left-back, he let out his plans of sticking with Davies at the moment.
After getting presented with a massive opening to represent the Swans in the starting eleven, the Welsh footballer indicated that he will look to grab the opportunity with both hands.
However, he revealed he was saddened to see his senior team-mate get ruled out for the remainder of the term due to an injury, but vowed to do everything he can to fill his void.
“At the moment everyone's thoughts are with Neil," he told the reporters.
 "We hope he has a speedy recovery because it's a nasty injury. I was just hoping to be involved with the squad, so to play two games out of the first three is unbelievable.”
