Davis Tarwater occupies Men’s 100m butterfly gold: Day two – 2012 NC Charlotte UltraSwim
Davis Tarwater of SwimMAC Carolina occupied gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly on second day of the 2012 NC Charlotte UltraSwim at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center in Charlotte on Friday, May 11.
The 28-year-old Tarwater demonstrated his stupendous efforts in the double butterfly discipline as he sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal.
With his epic swim, he remained just one stroke faster from his strongest challenger on the finishing end and stepped on the podium for gold medal by clocking a time of 52.87 seconds.
The champion was followed by Tyler McGill of Una NYAC-MR, who remained just 0.11 seconds faster from his foregoing finisher and cemented his place on the victory stand for silver medal by posting a time of 52.98 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Tarwater’s teammate, Tim Phillips, who stayed nearly two body strokes apart and proved his mettle for bronze medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 53.28 seconds.
Phillips faced tough competition from his subsequent swimmer, Eugene Godsoe, who remained just a touch away from him and settled on the finishing blockade as fourth position holders by reporting a time of 53.38 seconds.
Godsoe was chased by Robert Bollier of Unattached-PC, who was 0.37 seconds apart and hit the finishing blockade with the timing of 53.75 seconds for fifth position.
Sixth position of the discipline was obtained by Christopher Brady of North Baltimore, who suffered a deficit of just 0.04 seconds from Bollier and hit the wall with an effort of 53.79 seconds.
Brady was trailed by Joseph Schooling of Bolles School-FL, who ended his swim in seventh best place by posting a time of 53.93 seconds.
Last spot of the race was secured by Daniel Madwed of Club Wolverine-M, who remained 1.17 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with the timing of 55.10 seconds.
In addition, the session ended after the completion of all planned events while the position holders were called upon the medal rostrum for their awards and accolades at the prize distribution ceremony after the session.
