Dawn Approach hot favourite for Goffs Vincent O´Brien Stakes (Registered as The National Stakes)
Dawn Approach will be the one to beat in the Goffs Vincent O´Brien Stakes (Registered as The National Stakes) (Group 1) (Entire Colts & Fillies) at Curragh in Ireland on Saturday, September 15, 2012. Although, there are some extremely talented runners up
against him, yet he is confident enough to dominate them with his lightning speed.
The young contestant has been unbeaten in his career until now and it will be difficult to break his streak. He is extremely confident and has raced at Curragh in the past, which means that the conditions will not be new to him.
The track conditions will also be suitable for the talented colt and his team will be expecting the weather to remain dry throughout the day. He will have to beat seven other quality runners in order to bag a cash prize of €116,000 in the end.
Although, things look quite simple to everyone, but there is a chance of someone to cause an upset in the all important race. Flying The Flag might be the one, who manages to break the winning streak of the favourite runner.
Looking at the record of the two-year-old colt, it is clear that he has got immense talent and has the ability to deliver a solid result against the best in the business. He has raced once at Curragh and finished as a runner up back then.
However, the conditions were heavy back then, thus he had to struggle hard to fight for a victory. Things will be different for the A. P. O'Brien’s trainee this time around and he will not allow anyone else to walk away with a comfortable victory.
Dawn Approach will be fully aware of the challenge he will be facing in the race today. However, that will not be enough to put him under pressure and he will be looking to achieve glory once again.
The J. S. Bolger’s trainee made his first appearance in March this year and was expected to be dominant. He did not disappoint anyone and stormed to the top with ease. Since then, he took part in three more races and was victorious in all of them.
The dominant runner has been partnered by Kevin Manning since the start of his career and he will once again be fighting under the same jockey.
