Dax Hill and Brendan Hansen dominate Men’s events – 2011 Texas Senior Circuit
Dax Hill and Brendan Hansen dominated the finals of Men’s swimming events with their impressive efforts, on the third day of the 2011 Texas Senior Circuit. The session conducted the finals of the Men’s 200m freestyle and 100m breast-stroke in the Open category.
Dax Hill of TXLA-ST, who reached the final as the second fastest swimmer, touched the wall first in the final rounds to pocket the gold medal of the event. He was in a lead of nearly two seconds over his following swimmer and clocked a time of 1 minute and
50.25 seconds for the title of the event. He was followed by Woody L Joye of UN-ST, who stepped on the podium for the silver medal, by touching the wall in 1 minute and 52.13 seconds. The third position was secured by Joye’s team-member, Austin Surhoff, who
clocked a wonderful time of 1 minute and 52.94 seconds.
The 20-year-old Surhoff remained 0.17 seconds ahead of his following swimmer, Kyle McNeilis of UN-ST, who touched the wall for the fourth best position with a timing of 1 minute and 53.11 seconds. McNeilis was followed by The Woodlands-GU’s Michael McBroom,
who earned the fifth best position of the event, by clocking in a time of 1 minute and 53.71 seconds.
Bobby W Button of TXLA-ST and Cannon Clifton of MAC-GU appeared on the finishing wall as the sixth and seventh fastest finishers, as they posted a time of 1:53.92 and 1:54.67 minutes, respectively. They were followed by Connor A Nolan of Mustangs-NT, who
occupied the last spot of the swim in 1 minute and 58.19 seconds.
In the Men’s 100m breast-stroke, Brendan Hansen of TXLA-ST comfortably conquered the title of the event in a time of 1 minute and 01.59 seconds. He was followed by his team-members, Christi Schurr and Eric Friedland, who followed him on the podium for the
silver and bronze medals, with timings of 1:03.32 and 1:03.62 minutes, respectively.
The fourth position of the two-lap swim was earned by Kean Stevenson of UN-ST, who was nearly two seconds behind Friedland and touched the wall in 1 minute and 05.38 seconds. Matt J Hoyland and Will A Licon followed them on the wall as the fifth and sixth
finishers, with timings of 1:05.81 and 1:06.10 minutes, respectively. Kyle M Yu and Justin D Day completed their swims in the seventh and eighth fastest spots, by producing a time of 1:06.47 and 1:07.75 minutes, respectively.
In addition, the arena enjoyed the scintillating efforts of podium finishers, while the winners were awarded with accolades after the completion of the session.
