Question:

Day Spa in Paris?

I will be traveling to Paris in March with my daughter. I would like to treat her to a Europeon day spa experience but I don't want to spend a fortune at one of those 5 star spa hotels. Can anyone recommend a good day spa in the city? Thanks!

  1. Oh. Can I come? Here's to your bien-etre (well-being). Book it now, if you can- Paris spas are usually out 1-2 months. No matter where you go, french women know how to take care of their skin and are overall beauty experts- you are going to love it. There are tons of products in France that you can't get in the US so I suggest stocking up on anything you like.

Here are a few ideas for you:

Les Bains du Marais : www.lesbainsdumarais.com

on the site of ancient bathing spots, facials, massages, saunas, and traditional steam rooms. 30-60 euro for steam room and massages...

Villa Thalgo www.thalgo.com - a Mediterranean style spa.

Omnisens- a HUGE spa with everything, and Pilates!

remember to say bonjour and merci... bon voyage!

  2. There's the Massage Cafe at 181, rue Saint Martin in the cetnrally located 3rd arrondisement. There website is here: http://www.massagecafe.com/index.php (in French)

An alternative to a European day spa is the Hammam (turkish baths) at 39 rue Geoffroy-St-Hilaire, in the 5th arr.  (Metro Censier-Daubenton). This is part of the Arab Institute which is worth checking out even if you don't use the baths.

They are open daily from 10am-9pm (hours and days for men and women change, so phone first, tel 01.43.31.38.20 but generally women on Mon & Wed-Sat)
