Day Trip Ideas?

So I want to do a weekend trip with my boyfriend. We live in Mass, but the problem is that he's not into just walking around and sight seeing. So it needs to be interesting and NOT museums. He can only do that for so long. Help any ideas would be appreciated.

Go to Cape Cod an play in the ocean.

Go to Boston and take a duck tour.

One museum he may like is the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester. It's all armory and weapons.

Or the Boston Science Museum is really fun - not a stodgy art museum at all - lots of fun things to see and do.

Do you have any amusement or water parks nearby?  Those can be a blast.  

Try going canoe-ing on a slow lazy river.  It takes a little bit of getting used to paddling correctly but it's a lot of fun learning.  Then once you get the hang of it it's a blast.  There are places you can rent the canoe, life jackets etc.  They generally will pick you up @ a point or drop you off so that you land back where your car is.

This weekend there will be a lot of Fireworks celebrating our Independence.  That's always nice if you are patient and don't mind big crowds.
