Day four of Maria Lenk Trophy: Kaio Almeida and Rebecca Soni secure the fastest times
At the end of the day four of the 2011 Maria Lenk Trophy, two swimmers put on a show and had secured the fastest times in the Men’s 200m fly and Women’s 50m breast at Rio de Janeiro in Brazil on Friday.
Kaio Almeida took home the Men’s 200m butterfly title with a stunning time of 1:55.22, while Leonardo Alves Santos wound up second with a time of 1:58.36 and Leonardo De Deus earned third in a time of 1:58.50. In the 200m fly, Takeshi Matsuda still retains
the Number one spot with a sterling time of 1:54.12, whereas Ryusuke Sakata is on the Number two place with a time of 1:55.11 in the world rankings.
Almeida was extremely excited and pleased with his over performance in the 200m fly final last night.
On the other hand, Fabiola Molina won the Women’s 50m back-stroke title with a sterling time of 28.33, while Etiene Medeiros took second place with a time of 28.58 and Duane Marce settled third with a 28.95.
In the Women’s 200m fly meet, Mireia Belmonte snared the gold medal with a time of 2:09.95. Meanwhile, Joanna Maranhao grabbed the silver with a 2:12.75 and Daiene Dias captured the bronze with a time of 2:14.56.
Daniel Orzechowski picked up the top seed in the Men's 50m back-stroke event with a winning time of 25.65. Guilherme Guido placed second with a time of 25.81, while Henrique Martins wound up third in a time of 25.87.

In the Women’s 100m freestyle semis, Tatiana Barbosa captured the first spot with a stunning time of 55.66. On the other side, Jessica Hardy finished second with a time of 55.77 in the respective meet.
The men’s 100m freestyle title was captured by Bruno Fratus with a winning time of 49.00.
Rebecca Soni topped the Women's 50m breast-stroke with the fastest time of 30.99 and moved into fourth place behind Leiston Pickett (30.24), Yulia Efimova (30.46) and Jennie Johansson (30.98) in the world rankings. Hardy took second place with a time of
31.29 in the following event.
Felipe Silva took the gold medal in the Men’s 50m breast-stroke with a winning time of 27.48. After the race, Silva took a huge sigh of relief due to his most emphatic and versatile performance in the 50m breast-stroke final on Friday.
Last, but not the least, the Women’s 800m free relay title was clinched by Joanna Maranhao, Manuella Lyrio, Kirsty Coventry and Jessica Cavalheiro with a sterling time of 8:11.37, while Thiago Pereira, Fernando Santos, Ricky Berens and Ous Mellouli topped
the Men's 800 free relay with a winning time of 7:20.69.
