Question:

Day light saving time on flight?

I'm going to take Jetstar flight from Melbourne to Goldcoast.

While checking it's fare,

I'm a bit confuse.

June-July flight first flight is 6.30 - 8.30 (2 hrs)

while

August-October first flight is 6.30-7.30 (1 hrs)

while

Januari-March first flight is 6.00-7.00 (1 hrs)

The problem is that I'm taking a connecting flight with Airasia

depart at 08.55 from Goldcoast

But it seems Airasia doesn't calculate day light saving time

stick on departing at 8.40-8.55 (only 15 minutes difference)

can anybody explain ?

thanks

  1. Daylight saving has finished. Starts up again usually around November.

  2. Arrivals and departures are always in local time, including daylight saving.  That is why the flight duration times appear to be different.  The actual time in the sky is exactly the same - 2 hours.

  3. Daylight savings does not run in Queensland.

Daylight savings starts in October and runs will May. Which indeed effects the latter two time frames.

The website will show the local time the plane arrives at Coolongatta airport, so use that to plan your connecting flight.
