Day of first day of cycle/symptoms of pregnancy

Question

Ok i have a few questions. I am 32 yrs old and my husband an i have been trying to conceive for almost a year now. I was on Birth control for over 10 yrs before we got married and stopped taking it about a year ago. my cycle is a consistant 28 days..since i was young.. ok there is always one day before my cycle starts that i spot and see it only when i wipe.(sorry for details ) would that be considered my first day of my cycle or only when i actually come down the next day? next question is after i ovulate how long will it take to show some type of symptoms that i am pregnant? before a test would show...and what type of symptoms?
