Ok so can I just put the twin mattress on the daybed without a box spring or will that be uncomfortable?I am on a tight budget so yeah...would getting the mattress and box spring be worth it?Does anyone know where I can get a daybed that comes with a mattress and box spring or do I need to buy that seperate?I am guessing I need to buy the mattress and box spring seperate. As I said I am on a tight budget.I already know the daybed I want.

Here's the daybed I want-http://www.namebrandbeds.com/pinehurst.html I am in LOVE,LOVE,LOVE with this daybed.I know I want this daybed for sure.

  1. I don't think you usually need a box spring with a daybed.  When I had mine we never used a box spring and it was fine.  Good luck and that bed is really cute.

  2. Hi there

From the photo it looks like you will be needing a box and mattress set--you always need a boxspring for stability and support unless you are working with a platform-type bed. The bedframe most likely wouldnt be able to support just the mattress by itself due to the flexibility in just a mattress.

For cheaper (than normal options I would suggest trying your local craigslist for someone selling cheap in your area...of course you may not want to consider a used set, but alot of times they have brand new sets for sale much cheaper than anywhere else. Even places like salvation army often have -new in plastic- mattresses!

Ikea also has decent prices...though the quality may be lacking. (In my opinion of course)
