  1. First of all where do you live, where ever you live there r about 8-10 day cares in your area. Enrollments is an ongoing process the only way the will not let you in is if they have a full class. each class has twelve students and one teacher and usually an aide that floats in different classes. Hours r from 6:30-6:00pm  age groups can range from infants to 5 years old. But a typical preschool age group is 2-5. Try visiting some preschools ECE teacher for 10 years

  2. You need to contact the individual programs for this information.  Call your local elementary school, social service agencies, and churches and make a list of the programs they tell you about.  Then contact the individual programs for more details about the information you want to know.

  3. I live in the SoCal/LA area and I am a preschool teacher.  My school has a year-round curriculum and enrolls year-round.  Our ratios are 1 teacher for 8 children for 2 year olds and 1 teacher to 12 children for 3 year olds and up.  Enrollment dates, hours of operation, staffing, etc varies from school to school.  However, I would steer away from the franchise/chain schools.  (Sadly, I used to work for one).  Most are run by a corporation and their main objective is to fill up the classes to the max (More kids = more $$).  I would look into smaller schools (such as privately operated or church-based schools).  I have found the smaller schools to have more of a family atmosphere and there is more individual attention to each child.  Good luck!
