My kids daycare/preschool always has holiday parties. Theres a sign up sheet for parents to bring in some store bought goodies. I have two kids and usually bring something for each class...The red, white, blue party tomorrow Im not sure if Im able to spare the extra cash. Almost no other parents ever sign up for these parties...I know they have the party regardless...Does the center or teacher buy some treats from their own pocket? I really like bringing in treats for my kids and their friends.

  1. Most of the time teachers will bring in something and they buy it out of their own pocket.  Rarely does the school pay for parties, unless it is a school wide function.  I understand that money is tight...I'm there myself.  Normally when this is the case try to volunteer to bring in the paper plates, cups, and napkins.  You can generally find those pretty cheap.  If you feel guilty not bringing in food, try to get together with another mother to split the cost of something like a large batch of cupcakes.  You can find those cheaper at the bulk store like Sam's, Costco or BJs.
