Daycare question for the Detroit Metro Area.....?

Question

My family and I are new to the Detroit Metro area.....Waterford to be exact. My daughter is six months old and I was wanting to return to work so have been trying to find her a daycare.

I have visited a few Kindercares and she has even spent a day a piece at a few, but I haven't felt like any place I have been to is just right.

So my question is; does anybody in the area know of a good daycare or know some more about the Kindercares in the area. We live in Waterford but I would be willing to drive a little ways for good child care!!!

I'm not from the Waterford area (I'm in Macomb County), but do have some information that might be valuable to your search.

Here is a statewide search for child care providers (day cares, home settings, etc).  You can search by city to see all the licensed care providers and also pull up the reports from the state inspections to see if there are any infractions, special investigations or disciplinary action taken towards that center.  This link also includes advice on how to request copies of reports that are not on the site.

I would also recommend to talk to your neighbors with young kids and see who they use....also check with coworkers.  Once you get a recommendation and interview that place yourself, I'd also check them out at the above link.
