Daycare with a shy parent?

My grandchild is 4 and one parent never went to daycare, so they do not want the 4 year old to go to Pre K that is being offered by a daycare. The parent is shy and bashful, is this why? Help!!!

  1. Pre-K is SUCH a great learning environment for children. I think that kids miss out when they don’t get to experience this. It prepares them for kindergarten and helps open the child to that  type of learning environment. I think the part where the parent wasn’t in daycare doesn’t really matter. But I do think you should try to show that Pre-K has great benefits. And ask the parent why they feel this way. Do they have any valid reasons? And if they want to keep the child home or not include them in Pre-K….what types of things will he/she do to make sure the child is prepared for kindergarten?

  2. NO... never heard such a thing. They wont let the 4 year old go to pre K because the parent is shy?? Whats this got to do with the child. No this is not why, it's something else. I would check into that. Pre K will help this child develop self confidence and feel comfortable around his peers. not to mention a head start for kinder. Being ahead of the game for kinder gives him the "I can do this " confidence.
