purchased new 2001 c240 model auto only done 7000 miles yes that is correct 7000 miles

  1. Don't waste time asking questions on the web if you have only just bought the car, just take it back to the Mercedes-Benz dealer you purchased it from and get it repaired under the warranty. If you are talking about the automatic lighting which operates when lighting levels fall this is just a simple adjustment but cannot be done by you.  


  2. Never go off? even when you remove the key? Then you have a wiring problem, like a stuck relay.

    They are supposed to stay on all the time, unless the key is removed or the emergency brake is on.


  3. I did not think that  this model had daylight running lights hardly any mercs do so I think you have a wiring problem
