Days off in US OF A?

Hey, here in Israel we have saturday as a day off. How is it in America?

How people work there?

  1. Most people in the US get Saturday and Sunday off.  Of course there are numerous exceptions.


  2. Most people don't work Saturdays unless they're in some service-related industry.

    The standard work week is Monday through Friday.

  3. People who work in retail work on Saturdays for the most part.  Years ago people had Sundays off and nothing was open out of respect for the Christian sabbath.  That is very rare nowadays.  Privately owned retail businesses shut down on Sundays in some instances but its rare.

  4. Mostly in America the work week is Monday through Friday.

    But of course, places like restaurants and movie theaters are open on the weekends...

    Here in New York City museums and Broadway theaters are mostly closed on Mondays.

    And there are some Orthodox-owned businesses, like B&H Photo, which are closed on Saturdays.
