De Bertolis and Pallhuber win second stage of 2011 TransAlp
Silmax Autopolar Cannondale team’s De Bertolis Massino and Pallhuber Johann launched decisive attack in the final kilometres and won second stage of 2011 TransAlp mountain bike race on Sunday, July 17.
The race started in Weerberg and ended in Mayrhofen. Bertolis took a total of 3 hours, 13 minutes and 11.10 seconds to cover the distance of 68.7 kilometres.
After winning the stage, De Bertolis said, "When the problems started, Johann [Pallhuber] showed the right reaction and pressed forward, I'm in really good condition - I'm really pleased with the first two stages. Our goal was to win a stage; so from now
on we can take it day by day."
Huber Urs and Looser Konny (Stockli) did not show their good effort and were unable to hold their pace and grabbed the runner-up spot with a difference of 46.2 seconds, while Platt Karl and Dietsch Thomas (Bulls l) were in third place with 46.3 seconds behind
De Bertolis.
Looser said, "My back was aching so I couldn't equally pull and push, Due to this I lost my rhythm."
Wieltschnig Silvio and Zorweg of factory Cube 1 took the title of Brief Master with a timing of 3 hours 25 minutes and 06.3 seconds. Janes Silvano and Platzgummer Walter took the title of senior master ahead of Pross Erich and Dietrich Erwin.
Binder Natascha and Troesch Daniele of Felt Otztal X-Bionic took advantage in the second stage of the race. Felt Otztal X-Bionic team was in good form and managed to gain a lead in the final kilometres.
She took a total of 4 hours, 27 minute and 19.3 seconds to cover the distance of 68.7 kilometres. Neumann Kartin and Miessgang Martina (Mountain Heroes) were runner-ups.
Jenny Manuela and Tanner Susanne (Velorado Racing Team) were in the third place with a difference of 42.3 seconds. Bresser Carsten took the title of Brief Mixed with a timing of 3 hours, 46 minutes and 29 seconds ahead of Landtwing Milena and Kiechle Martin.
The next stage will start in Mayrhofen and end in Brixen. All the riders will cover the distance of 94 kilometres.
