In spite of claiming a 2-4 victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Willem-II-c40945, the Amsterdammers boss was far from pleased with his side’s show, and admitted that they made things difficult for themselves.
Ajax Amsterdam head coach, Frank de Boer, was not entirely pleased with his side’s 2-4 win over Willem II Tilburg on Sunday, December 16.
De Joden started the game brilliantly, and put consistent pressure on the home side’s back-line right from the whistle. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Hoesen-c10208 netted a goal each within the opening 14 minutes of the game to grab a two goals advantage.
However, Aurelien Joachim and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Genaro-Snijders-c14511 both found the target to level the score-line before the half-hour mark.
And the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 boss admitted that his troops threw away the lead, which could have cost them points at the end of 90 minutes.
“If you come here and lead 2-0, you expect to walk away 5-0. To throw away a lead like that simply cannot happen. It can cost you points”, De Boer said while talking to reporters in Tilburg.
The Dutch mentor went on to insist that they made things difficult for themselves after failing to seal the game until the final moments of the match.
After the Tricolores restored parity, the Amsterdammers failed to assert their authority on the pitch until the half-time break.
However, De Joden resumed proceedings impressively in the second-half, though, they failed to hit the back of the net until the 72nd minute when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Niklas-Moisander-c27919 added his name to the score-sheet. Jody Lukoki sealed the win in favour of the visiting
side three minutes before the full time whistle.
“We made things unnecessarily difficult for ourselves. How can it be that we made it so tough for ourselves? Sharpness and inspiration. You need to lock up the game more easily”, De Boer added.
Nonetheless, the 42-year-old tactician was pleased to bag all three points at the end.
“Fortunately we have three points”, De Boer concluded.
Ajax are now third in the league standings, only a point behind the table-toppers, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237 in their next Eredivisie game on December 23.
