Ajax Amsterdam head coach, Frank de Boer, has stressed that his side must claim a victory in their upcoming UEFA Champions League encounter against Real Madrid. The two sides will meet at Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, December 4.
The Amsterdammers head into the game sitting at the third spot in the Group D, a point ahead of the bottom placed, Manchester City. They have already been knocked out of the Europe’s most prestigious club competition, but a win will confirm their participation
in UEFA Europa League after the winter break.
And the former Dutch international has expressed determination about securing all three points on Tuesday night in Madrid, though, he has admitted that his troops will need to put in their 100 percent in order to achieve the feat.
“The most important thing for me is that we are going to see a good Ajax performance. We have to win so the match in Dortmund doesn't matter”, De Boer was quoted as saying to reporters in the pre-match press conference.
The Madrid giants have already sealed their place in the Europe’s primary club competition’s knockout stages, and do not stand a chance to win the group.
Los Blancos head coach, Jose Mourinho, would certainly rest some of his key players for the upcoming game, but the Amsterdammers boss has made it clear that La Liga outfit still has plenty of quality in their squad.
“When you see which players are still in the line-up, you cannot really say that Real have been weakened but I just hope that the win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 [at the weekend] has given us a boost”, De Boer concluded.
De Joden goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kenneth-Vermeer-c20618, has also expressed optimism ahead of his side’s clash against Real Madrid, and has stressed that all his teammates are gunning to continue their European voyage in the Europa League.
“Why not? Against Manchester City we played really well in both games. Of course I want to go through in Europa, the level is still a very high standard”, Vermeer said while talking to journalists.
