AC Milan representatives have confirmed the news that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigel-de-Jong-c27882 is seriously injured and will be off the field for at least five to six months
De Jong, splintered his Achilles tendon while playing the recent match against Torino. AC Milan won the match 4-2.
The number 34 went to ground 22 minutes in to the game and by the expressions on his face was in visible agony. He was pulled off the pitch immediately and had the medics look in to the problem. The doctors immediately advised
him to sit out the match to avoid further problems.
The reports of his Achilles tendon rupturing were confirmed immediately afterwards. The trauma appears to be serious and will require the player to go in to medical recovery immediately. His doctors have given a minimum time frame
of five to six months, after which they will be able to make a better prediction as to the Dutchman’s future.
The defensive midfielder is accredited with a very aggressive and often times dangerous style of play. He has been a pivotal force in injuring a lot of opposition players over the years, earning him the nickname of “der Rasenmäher"
which is German for the lawn mower.
The Dutchman famously broke the leg of the American Bolton Wanderer’s player Stuart Holden, thanks to a late challenge. Also during a 2010 FIFA World Cup final, the 28 year old wildly kicked Spanish player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045 in the chest.
He later admitted that he was lucky not to get a red card for the challenge on the Spaniard.
That weirdly enough seems to be De Jong’s special skill, he gets away without receiving red cards, even after making such extreme tackles. Some would call his recent injury redemption, after all the misery he has put his victims
through with his clumsy challenges.
