The Napoli chief has reacted furiously to queries regarding the future of the striker with his club, and stated that all the speculation regarding the attacker’s contract will only increase costs.

De Laurentiis was surrounded with journalists asking questions about Cavani as he walked out of Lega offices in Milan, and the Napoli owner was in no mood to take questions.
The Partenopei owner branded the journalists as the great peasants of Italian football, and blamed that money was their sole concern behind such questions.
The Azzurri boss stated that while the film people are generous about giving contracts to their actors, the finance talk is not something that should be talked about in the public.
De Laurentiis slammed the journalists for getting fixated on the contacts of the big football stars, and insisted that the attitude only serves to drive up the costs of the clubs.

Latest reports in the media suggest that Cavani’s agent has put forward the demand for an improved contract for his client.
The demand has been made in the light of big offers from all over Europe, some of them exceeding the 40 million dollar mark.
