Dead Battery on 1994 Suzuki Intruder 800

Question

My buddy was riding my bike and left the key on. I tried running starting it and I got it to fire up twice but it died immediately. Then I tried running it with the choke on and it wouldn't start at all. How much speed to I need?

Also, how hard would charging the battery be. Is it true I just need to undo two bolts and the battery box is on a hinge that will open up? This isn't a super heavy bike but hard to get going any decent speed pushing in second gear, can I run it myself and get it started?
