Question:

Dead Dryer? HELP!!!?

My Roper Dryer #RES7745PQ0 stopped running the other day. I can get the settings dial to sometimes make a ticking noise, but other than that it is dead.

Does anyone know what is causing this or what I should do to fix it? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks :)

  1. The first thing I would suspect, if you're sure that you still have electrical power to the machine, is the safety switch on the door of the machine -- a failure of which would not let the machine start and run.

  2. check the power cord

  3. I suspect you blew a fusestat, which is a high temperature safety fuse. That will shut down the unit. Often caused by a plugged or crushed vent.

On many models if you can hear the timer ticking you at least have 110volts and usually those don't advance unless the door is closed so that part of the circuit is likely okay.
