Dead Grass on Grave Sites.... why it is so SAD!?

I went to my Dad's grave site on Father's Day and I noticed that over ever grave the grass is dead. It looks like a grass grid in the grave yard. I just don't understand what causes it.

I live in HOT A** Texas and thought maybe that had something to do with it... anyone know?

It was just dead on the grave all around it was green.

Puzzled!

  1. Either the grounds people did not care for the grass after they planted it, or they planted a different type of grass on the graves that does not do well in that climate.  Pretty sad that the graveyard didn't take care of it though.

  2. becasue maybe the grave people water the grass not the graves that is why. its sad that you re sad about your dad. imean hes fine and well. hes resting untill you come to be with him an dthen he will be seen again. i am one of those grave visitors and love the thought of seeing the graves and talking to them and then leaving take care.

  3. my grandfather died and i noticed that too, and just so you know i live in Texas too, i think that happens because the digging of the grave messes up the rooting and makes the soil either too loose or too tightly packed causing the grass's root unable to retain water or expanned fully, or maybe its God's work, who knows?
