Dead Island finishes second in the PC Charts: United Kingdom
It is that time of the week again where we sit down, look back and reflect on another week of video-game sales in the United Kingdom’s Interactive Entertainment Industry, or more commonly known as the Video Game Industry.
The PC charts have seen a fair bit of movement over the past week as Cataclysm, the expansion pack for World of Warcraft, manages to hold on at the number 10 spot and stop itself from falling into the abyss.
THQ’s Dawn of War 2: Retribution is also trying to keep from turning into day, which would be a bad thing for the game, as it manages to stay one position above its Warcrafty cousin.
StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty continues to glide into the lower positions of the chart after an impressive showing during its early weeks following release. However, with new blood in the market, it has fallen down the pecking order to number 8.
No matter what one does, there will always be a Sims title in the PC charts and this week has three. The first of which is The Sims Medieval which comes in at the number 7 spot and is refusing to go any lower.
Keeping things British is Football Manager 2011, as a majority of Arsenal fans are taking to the game to see if they can do any better than Arsene Wenger and the woeful Arsenal side. So far the reports coming in are showing that they certainly cannot do
any worse. Number 6.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution sees itself out of the Top 3 positions after overall sales from the game recently topped 2-million units. It now begins its steady decline, but at the moment has found solace in the number 5 position.
We have already warned you about the presence of Sims in the chart and in the number four spot is The Sims 3: Generations. It seems Electronic Arts, the game’s developer and publisher, have plenty to gain from launching another Sims game in the future as
anything with Sims on its seems to be minting money.
Starting the top 3 now and The Sims 3 are third, a position the game has been in on and off for as far as one can remember.
Waking up in a paradise gone horribly wrong and infested with Zombies is Deep Silver’s Dead Island, which manages to take the number 2 spot.
So topping the charts for the week is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines. It seems the invasion has begun and this week belongs to THQ and its Space Marines.
More PC chart news next week when the latest movers and shakers are revealed.
