Electronic Arts confirms that the third instalment in Isaac Clark’s torment-ridden series will be officially revealed at E3 on the 4th of June.
EA has just confirmed what everyone already knew; the fact that they would be officially unveiling Dead Space 3 during their Press Conference at E3.
The game made headlines in the gaming world when an Israeli TV channel leaked images of the game during their visit to Visceral Studios, the developer of the series. A few listings on various retailers also popped up and unconfirmed reports emerged that
the game would also boast cooperative gameplay as well as an icy planet setting.
Those unconfirmed reports were followed by even more reports all pointing out the exact same features and faster than one could raise their Plasma Cutter, everyone knew that Dead Space 3 was coming in full force.
EA’s silence on the matter only meant that they could not deny the reports and more information started leaking relating to the game, including a new layer of horror being added to the gameplay with Isaac Clarke being stalked and haunted by hallucinations
of Shadow Isaac. It turns out that the engineer turned necromorph killing machine is well into finally losing his mind.
However, one thing that EA has confirmed is the fact that the game will also see the introduction of a new character, John Carver. The announcement was made via a graphic novel short which introduced the character as guard on duty at Tau Volantis.
That was followed up by screenshots showing Isaac and Carver together, which can only mean that the game now supports a two-player story campaign.
As for the plot, well it turns out that Tau Volantis is an icy planet where there is, wait for it, another Marker, which when attacked sets off a chain of events that results in the entire population – barring a few – into necromorphs.
One can expect plenty of announcements and even some gameplay come the 4th of June when Dead Space 3 will be one of EA’s bigger reveals alongside the likes of FIFA 13 and Medal of Honor.
