In the second part of our look ahead at what games one can expect to make an appearance at E3 is the latest survival-horror series that has had grown men needing a regular change of pants.
When the original Dead Space game was released it was virtually unknown to anyone. The game lay on shelves and very few noticed the new IP from Visceral Games. However, as more and more gamers began playing the title it song garnered a cult following before
it hit the mainstream and people began comparing it to the likes of Resident Evil.
EA, the game’s publisher, decided that the success of the first game warranted a sequel and Dead Space 2 was announced at E3 last year. The game wowed audiences and critics praised the game for the atmosphere and sound, as well as some of the most terrifying
moments in gaming, which had grown men weeping like babies.
In fact, the game has plenty of iconic moments, from gory deaths of the game’s protagonist Isaac Clarke, to needles and eyes and even the odd exploding babies.

It turns out that this time round the game’s protagonist Isaac will not be alone as the game is rumoured to have drop-in, drop-out cooperative gameplay elements added in there as well. Set pieces in the storyline will change depending on how many players
are playing through the game.
The setting of the third instalment will also be different as Isaac Clarke will apparently be fighting the necromorphs on an icy planet known as Tau Volantis, where a marker has been set off and all h**l has broken loose.
Clarke may also be teaming up with another character, who may very well be the second playable character in the game, as a recent graphic novel short showed a soldier on guard duty witnessing the attack, fighting off a wave of necromorphs and attempting
to contact his wife, albeit unsuccessfully.
At the same time, rumours are also ripe that Isaac will be haunted by a ‘shadow Isaac’ throughout the game and his other self may be the co-op partner.
At this point nothing is for certain and it will be interesting to see how EA handle the game’s reveal.
