Dead ants along walls?

I keep sweeping up little dead ant all along the baseboards but havent used any ant killer.What could be causing them to die?

  1. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle it here and there. The ants will come and pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.


  2. Kim G is wrong again. Cinnamon/sugar will not kill ants. Ants can not swallow cinnamon. It just doesn't work.

    Chances are you've found a graveyard. When ants die, their buddies will, without ceremony, pick them up and dump them somewhere. Nobody knows for sure how they pick a spot, but once they start, they will use the spot for the life of the colony. The bigger the colony gets the more ants you'll see there.

  3. Just guessing, they're probably dieing from lack of food in a 'sterile' environment. I've had this happen in our home too.
