Dead bees sting?

can bees sting u even when they are dead? someone told me if a dead bee's stinger touched you it could still sting you?

NO!!!!! Dead is dead. People start all of these rumors about "dead" things biting or stinging when an ALMOST dead animal gets them.

You can place the stinger into the skin.  However, the muscles that are used to inject the venom will not work.  No pain should be felt.  

One note:  the muscles that inject the venom can operate after the bee is dead, maybe for a half an hour or so.

If you carefully pushed the stinger and squeezed the latter part of the abdomen you should be able to get somewhat of a normal sting.  When a honey bee stings you it leaves the stinger, ovaries and venom sack in place on you.  If you are not careful in removing the stinger(don't pinch it)you can inject more venom into you.
