Deadlock on the question of India-Pakistan series frustrates Shoaib Akhtar - Cricket News Update
The former fast bowler of Pakistan, Shoaib Akhtar has said that the continuous deadlock on an India-Pakistan bilateral series is frustrating.
During an interview with a media channel, Sohaib said that Pakistan and India should resume cricketing ties, and the deadlock was unhealthy for cricket in the region. However, he was quick to refute the remarks made by the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman,
Zaka Ashraf, who had earlier said that the poor form of the Indian cricket team and the good form of Pakistan is the basic reason behind the refusal of the BCCI to resume cricketing relations.
"Obviously it is frustrating the way the Indians have avoided playing us for some reason or the other all these years,” said Akhtar on a television show. “But I think Zaka Ashraf's statement was a bit too strong and he needed to be careful while giving comments
because of his position as PCB Chairman," he added further.

The right-arm fast bowler said that it is not Pakistan’s current form that is intimidating for the Indians rather the Men in Green have always had an edge over their arch-rivals.
“It is also a fact that since 1985 we have won more matches against India because we have produced some of the most exciting talent in international cricket," said Akhtar.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 terror attacks in November 2008 forced the Indian cricket board to put cricketing ties with Pakistan on hold. They cancelled their 2009 tour
of Pakistan and are reluctant to play a bilateral series with their nemesis at neutral venues as well.
According to the Future Tour Programme (FTP) of the International Cricket Council, the Pakistan cricket team was scheduled to tour India in March-April this year. The tour however clashed with the Asia Cup, a quadrangular series, which features http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, Pakistan,

PCB officials offered their BCCI counterparts to host a series on a neutral venue some time after the Asia Cup but the latter did not respond positively.
