On the Weakest Link, is it true that deaf people aren't allowed to wear a hearing aid on the show?

  1. No, it is not true, that would be discriminatory, and the civil rights advocates would be all over them.

  2. I'm not sure: but the ADA (american disabilities act), states that equal access must be available.  They may not WANT To wear one... but it's legal.

However, just to make a point, "Deaf" people do not use hearing aids.  "Hard of hearing" people do.  "Deaf" people don't have enough residual hearing for hearing aids to do anything except make some sounds louder.  BIG difference.

Big "D" Deaf- is a culture, little "d" deaf is just not hearing.
