When i play blackjack with a few friends the dealer loses more than the player. No one wants to be dealer anymore because the players win more money the dealer. How can i alter the rules to make the dealer have a 3%-5% edge. The rule I do not want to change are blackjack pays 3-2.

  1. Do you use fresh cards?  Have you checked them for marks?  Are you dealing fast enough?  Do you deal the cards down?  Do you use multiple decks?  Do you deal from a shoe?  Are you holding the deck close until you give the hit?

  2. Don't play blackjack play pontoon instead. But it shouldn't make any difference if your playing with friends the game runs from around 1 to 6% in the dealers favor.

  3. With a single deck and perfect basic strategy (no card counting) the house only has about a 1% edge.  Some decent card counting, and the odds shift.

To stop the counting, shuffle halfway through the deck, instead of dealing to the bottom.

  4. well depends on what rules you are using already.

is dealer hitting on soft 17?

are you letting players insure against dealer BJ

    etc...

  5. No need to alter the rules, unless you are playing with some experienced card counters, the dealer still has an edge.  I am sure you just haven't played enough for the odds to work themselves out.  If everyone really thinks dealing is bad, you would be wise to offer to be permanent dealer, you'll win in the long run, guaranteed.
