Question:

Dealer won't cover under warranty. Claims that the battery was jumped backwards. Please help.

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The alternator, AM2, Dome and other fuses are blown. The battery is bulged. The dealer says that this was caused by the battery being jumped backwards which I know did not happen. What could possibly cause this this sort of damage other than the battery being jumped backwards. Is it possible that this could be caused by having an electrical system check at Autozone? Thanks for your help.

  1. fuses blow due to too much current flow.  battery bulges because of high current flow causing heat build up which warps the plates.

what were the results of the autozone check/  why did you take it in in the first place?

if it was warrenty, why not the dealer first?

i bet there are other problems as well.

  2. my answer is try to look around on this site http://www.autozone.com/ it's help

  3. ask them to PROVE it! There are several different wys that battery could have sustained that kinda damage other than their description. If the cannot prove it, then they need to honor the warranty and repeair the car. If you didn't jumpstart it and no that it wasn't done that way, my advice would be to talk with an attorney. If ya did... you're screwed and will just have to pay up. Good luck.
