  1. You are not going to get away from the fees.  You are trying to negotiate the out the door price.  Hard to say if you can get it at $15500 because we don't know what kind of car it is.

But if you want $15500 O.T.D. You need to figure out how much of that is tax, how much of that is a doc fee and other fees, is part of that the registration and license plates?  Take all of that of off the $15500 and that would be the price you are paying for the car.

I can't tell you how many people have walked away from a great deal because they did not understand that cars get taxed by the state.  someone will come in and say i want to pay $18,000 for a car and we get him to 18k on the car and then he sees the tax and says, I want that as part of the 18k.  The state charges the tax, dealers just collect it for them and pay it to the state.

If you have $1300 in tax, now you want the dealer to sell that car for$16,700.  The point is do your homework and find out what the tax is and what the fees are and what the price of the car is ad it up and see if it meets your price...if it does not, buy a cheaper car.

  2. Bargain hard! Go there at the end of the month or year.

The dealers are more willing to deal with you then.....

Bring as much CASH with you as you can..........Because...
