Dealing with over protective family

Question

Every girlfriend I have ever had complained about my mom being overprotective. I think a part of the reasons these girl broke up with me is because of my "over protective mom"

I will give you an example I am 20 and my mom wont let me get a job because I am in college. Said I would not have enough time to deal with a job.

So do you think my mom is over protective?

I am asking this question and I want to get back on the dating scene. But I believe if I dont solve this. I wont have successful relationship with a girlfriend.

You need to say to your mum that you are old enough to make you own decisions now.

You want to get a job as you need to be more independant.

She is not letting you grow up as you could be married! you could have children yourself! The girls got fed up because you are not sticking up for yourself and you are still dependant financially and in everyway on your Mum.

It will be hard but you must sit her down and tell her.

You are twenty years old and can make your own decisions.  Go get a job or what ever you want to do.  If your mom gets upset and won't pay for college then go to the financial department and get some student loans.  You need to start your own life and get away from your mother.  I'm not saying abandon her but live your life the way a man should not the way your mother tells you to.
