  1. It can be very confusing. Allying goes like this.

If your army is a Daemonhunters force:

You need to fill the minimum required unit slots for the mission force chart with units from the Daemonhunters list. Any units beyond the compulsory choices can be taken either from IG, or Space Marine army lists. But not both, and you can't take Space Marine allies if your Daemonhunters army has ANY Grey Knights. The troop choices you can take from the allied IG/SM lists are found in the troops section of the Daemonhunters army list. The Allied IG/SM are 'normal'/ vanilla IG/SM without any chapter specific rules or doctrines.

If your army is Imperial Guard(Any), Space Marine (Any, but with Dark Angels their special rule about the 'Hunt the Fallen' isn't used.), or Sisters of Battle you can include Daemonhunter allies with them:

You need to fill the minimum, compulsory choices from the main list. After the compulsory choices, you can add units from the Daemonhunters with the following restrictions:

    0-1 HQ

    0-1 Elite

    0-2 Troops

    0-1 Fast Attack

No Heavy Support can be taken for the allied Daemonhunters, but you may include, say, Grey Knights, if you so wish.

Hopefully that clears it a bit.

    Happy Gaming!
