I'm not a rugby expert by any stretch of the imagination but i find his request that players who deign to criticise the mananger be stripped of playing for their country quite ludicrous! Surely if he isn't the best he canbe, are the players not doing the best for their country by speaking out?

You mean Brian Ashton? None of us know the story - what has Brain Ashton said to the players though? He never inspired me with any motivation, so I don't think he did with the players either.

as a sportsman myself i find it totally disrespectful to put down your coach behind his back, its pathetic, mike catt and lawarance should take a good look at their own performance, and its funny how a squad of that size only these two losers have made negative comments, in terms of players he had to choose from and their age, and where they were at the start of the tournament and to nearly win the world cup is good enough for me

back to your question, sometimes a coach may get it wrong, but you would need all the senior players to agree on it and only then you would speak to the coach himself and discuss,
