http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dean-Cosker-c1350 signs new deal at Glamorgan
Dean Cosker has signed a new three-year contract with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glamorgan-c784, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2013 season.
"It's been a great week for the Cosker household with the birth of my daughter and securing my future with Glamorgan, a real double whammy. I have enjoyed 15 years with Glamorgan and it is still somewhere
I am able to continue to achieve," he said.
The 32-year-old left arm orthodox bowler was one of the most successful players in the county over the summer.
This deal is very important for Glamorgan's chances of promotion next season.
He took a total of 51 wickets to become one of the best bowlers in the second division of the county championship. It now looks likely that
Cosker will see out the rest of his career with the county.
Promotion chances
Glamorgan needs reliable and consistent players ahead of next season if the dreams of promotion to the first division of the county championship are going to be achievable.
Cosker is someone who can play a number of different roles in the Glamorgan bowling attack. He took enough wickets last season to prove that he is effective going after batsmen. He's also very good at
holding up an end to keep the score down.
Glamorgan finished third in the second division of the four-day game only five points away from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Worcestershire-c866. It's a huge plus for the club that Cosker is still under contract and additional quality
can now be built around him.
"Last season was my most successful taking 53 wickets and I really feel I've got more of the same to come. It's a really nice environment to work in and I have great team mates who I can also call very
close friends," he added.
Betting advice
Cosker will take a lot of wickets next season and back him to take a five-for in any game he plays. If he's playing well then there is no reason not to back Glamorgan for promotion as the county will be
one of the biggest in division two.
