http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dean-Mervyn-Jones-c53391 Denies Using Derogatory Language for Rajasthan Cricket Association
Australia’s former international cricketer and current commentator, Dean Jones has insisted that the chargers being levelled against him for using derogatory language for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Cricket Association are unjustified as he never used any word which could
be deemed inappropriate.
Talking to newsmen in a bid to get his name cleared, Jones said, “Please let it be known that I have at no point of time used the phrase 'l*****g his (Shane Warne's) feet'. Instead I said, 'please kiss his feet', which in simple words mean giving due respect."
He later apologized to anyone who may be have been offended by his remarks.
Jones landed himself in the eye of the storm by giving a statement in favour of his countryman Shane Warne who is currently on bad terms with the RCA. According to Jones, the RCA should give some respect to Warne after the former Australian cricketer had
given so much time to the Rajasthan Royals and helped them raise the standard of their game.
“I have seen many people saying that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 is a God. And Warne is a cricketing God to many people and to me. Warne has contributed so much to everybody and even to the great game of cricket. Instead of respecting him, people are chastising him
when he is finishing his great career," Jones said in a statement.
His clarification came after the RCA announced that a legal action will be taken against the commentator under the law of defamation for his poor choice of words on Television while talking about the Warne and RCA fiasco.
Last week Rajasthan Royals skipper Shane Warne landed in a heated debate with RCA secretary http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-c88566 Dixit, for not provided his side with a suitable wicket to play on during the home matches.
It was reported in the media that right after RR’s defeat on Wednesday, Warne went to Dixit and exchanged hot words, the situation is said to have intensified to an extent that RR owner Shilpa Shetty had to jump in to defuse the feud.
Dixit later in formed the BCCI and IPL authorities about the incident and also provided text messages of Warne, in which the player had pressurised the RCA secretary to provide favourable pitches for his side to play on.
