His company arranges for travel and medical insurance(Bajaj Allianz) for him and his family(Wife and daughter). However, this insurance does not cover maternity expenses and they are expecting a baby later this year.

Can you please let us know , If they can get an insurance which covers maternity expenses as well?

I have heard that Allianz insurance may cover this but the costs are high. Can you please give us some idea regards the approx.costs of insurance ?

Also, Can him and his kid continue to avail the company provided insurance while his wife get shifted to other more comprehensive insurance? and what about the insurance for the new born?

Any tips regards selecting the insurance co.?

Please respond.

Thanks in advance,

Savera

  2. well, here's my experience: i do not really like the allianz insurance at all! i used to be with them and they always had a hard time paying the bills (it was no medical insurance though). they might have chanced over the years, idk.

some (german) med insurances are family insurances, where the one person making the big money is the 1st on the list, and he can also put his wife (when she's not working) and a child on that list, for no extra cost!

generally: basically all german health insurances are very good, a lot of stuff is covered and does not require any extra expenses (there's a fee for going to the doc, it's 10 bucks for every 3 month (40 euro max/year), but only when you go).

don't worry about the quality of the health system, it's the best one in the world. when having regualr health issues, a general physician will be fine.

when suffering of any severe disese, go to a university hospital near you, they usually have the latest equipment and well trained doctors (i don't want to say that the other hospitals don't have that..). you'll find them in any bigger city.

good luck with finding an insurance plan that works out for you!

  3. There are some more insurances.

    DAK

    TKK

    Barmer

Try those as well and compare them. Germany is quite an expensive country, so nothing will be really cheap.

You can also ask your insurance if it will cover a trip to Germany in such ways.
