So, I have a 2year old Russian Dwarf Campbell Hamster that I think needs a new home. It currentally lives in a 19.5 x 9.5 x 12.5 aquarium. It dosent have as much ventallation that I want and think my hammie wants. I went onto petsmart.com and tried to look for a better cage and I found two...I can't decide which one is better even with the costomer reviews, so, your opinion please?

  1. Firstly congragulations on changing your cage for the dwarf hamster. I personally do not advise on aquariums since they have bad ventilation and prone to condensation causing fungus growth inside thereby demanding a lot of cleaning. Also the space is very restricted.

I definitely would advise you to choose OPTION 2, reasons being lots of tubes to run around in and lots of nesting area. You dwarfie will be a very happy one on this cage!!!!!!

  2. The second one without a doubt!!!

  3. I'm a proud owner of a long haired male hamster and he would sure love the second one^^ and your hamster would too!!! It's so roomy and big!!!!

  4. i think the 2nd one as has more things 2 do and all around look s better

im sure  he'll/she'll love it and will have lot's of room

    good luck

    =P

  5. I totally pick the second one. It's very cool.

  6. Bigger the better. Crittertrail Two (second cage) is by far, the best of the options.

  7. I don't like either of them because the tubes are a pain to clean because the hamster urinates in them and sometimes the hamster doesn't realize to go up the tube. They're a pain to clean and set up. I used to work at Petco and we sold the same exact cages. We had customers coming in to return them because they were a pain to set up, or we would have to set up the cage for the customer.

To be honest with you I'm selling a hamster cage, and it's made of purple metal bars that the hamster can't chew through. Has an installed wheel and a feeding dish. I'm going to be selling it on ebay later on this week, and I'll be selling it for $25. I bought the cage for $45 from Petco and thats not including the additional supplies. Its been used, but I'll garuantee you a clean and sterilized cage. You'll also be getting a free igloo and Plastic Ball for the Hamster to run in, whenever you take him/her out of the cage. I'm moving and I want to get rid of whatever cages I don't need. I used the cage for a Teddy Bear Hamster and you'll definitely be able to fit a Dwarf Hamster in the cage. Also, the dimension of the cage is 15"L x 12"H x 11 1/2"W. I'll send you the link from ebay. Please Check it!!!

  8. I love the second one it give the hamster more space to run around in and more obstacles.

  9. Personally i would not go for neither of those for a dwalf hamster as it would escape through the bars you can buy 2-3 level cages for about £40-£50 from pets at home which are the best type for dwalf hammies there your plastic all up the sides etc these cages also have tubes. but i advise u not to go for bars on the side of the cage for a dwalf hamster if u dont want to loose it. unless the bars are really close together as hamsters can squash them selves down to a small size
