it was said that UNIVERSAL PRODUCTION, VERTIGO is responsible for the American adaptation.

now that 20th CENTURY BOYS theatrical release will hit JAPAN end of this August, I wonder HOLLYWOOD would be very keen to make an adaptation too.

American Death Note In the Development

Shock Till You Drop reports that frequent adaptors of Asian cinema Vertigo (The Departed) are working on a Hollywood adaptation of Death Note, produced by Doug Davison and written by Vlas and Charles Parlapanides.

It's so far confirmed. Zac Efron will play Yagami Light. I actually am not happy with Hollywood for wanting to remake Death Note. And also the fact that they chose Zac to play Light.

From what I have heard there is going to be one. IMDB.com has a page for it up, but you have to have a pro account to even look at it, if memory serves it is slated to come out 2011. As a fan I'm looking forward to it, but am a little worried.
